Our store’s mission is to support the International Bible League by raising
funds to help them place the Holy Bible all across this wonderful world that
God has created! The profits that we generate are sent to our Foundation in
Chilliwack, and they in turn send those funds on to the Bible League to
support the country that each thrift store chooses to support. In Lethbridge
we have chosen to support China as there are 1.1 billion people to reach,
and the need for Bibles today stands already at 50 million. The Bible League
brings the message to other countries as well including India, Africa and
the Ukraine to name but a few. The BFM thrift stores in Canada stand at 32
stores and counting. We are aiming to being environmentally friendly by
recycling and reusing all the many treasures that do not need to be in our
landfills. We are good stewards of our environment and in turn use those
profits for the benefit of new Christians that are hungry to have a Bible of

We take and sell clothing, shoes and small household appliances such as
toasters etc., china, knickknacks, books, toys, games & sporting goods. We
do not take or sell large house hold appliances or computers or monitors
etc. We are always looking for more volunteers. Our store is run completely

Our Red Deer store began its humble beginning 16 years ago, being the first
Bibles for Missions (BFM) Thrift Store to open in Alberta. Our purpose is to
gather, sell and recycle quality used household items and clothing donated
by the general public in order to raise funds for Bibles. This is done in
partnership with The Bible League of Canada. The Red Deer BFM Thrift Store
has adopted the Ukraine as their designated support country whereby, all
funds raised by our store goes towards the purchase of Bibles for use in
that country. Since 1992, the Red Deer BFM Thrift Store has sent $1.63
million dollars to The Bible League who through their distribution network
has provided countless Bibles and Bible tracts throughout the Ukraine. The
very heart and soul of the Red Deer BFM Thrift Store are its 100+ volunteers
and three paid staff. Many of our volunteers are seniors. We are always in

Mennonite Central Committee's development work around the world is in
areas such as education, health, agriculture, peace and justice issues,
relief work and job creation.
In Alberta, MCC is involved with refugees, AIDS awareness, peace education,
service opportunities, offenders and victims of crime and more. MCC offers

SALVATION ARMY THRIFT STORES:
The Salvation Army Thrift Stores provide a source of funding for the
Salvation Army programs through the sale of donated clothing and other
items. Donated items can be dropped off at our collection point in Calgary
at #29, 2355- 52 Ave SE or at the stores themselves. Items are sorted and
processed and sold in the Thrift Store and/or provided to needy persons
through a volunteer system provided by the Family Services Department of the
Salvation Army. One of the benefits of this objective is the reduction of
usable textiles from the municipal waste stream. We constantly seek to
provide an environment which is beneficial to the development and well-being
