 The Act of Remembrance
...excerpt from the poem For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon (1869-1943) recited at memorial services worldwide.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

REFRAIN:

"
We will remember them."

Remembrance Day – A time to reflect

Living life in Christ means we are open to notice what He is doing all around us – because He IS actively at work whether we see it or not – so – much better to see it!  Because He is a present, active force, we can expect Him to be working, and so we can expect to see His hand at work in our lives, and also in the lives of others around us. Sometimes, His work is obvious. Sometimes it is not.

I love this story: From the book, The Fall of the Fortresses by Elmer Bendiner.

Elmer Bendiner describes a bombing run over the German city of Kassel during WWII.  On a mission, a 20-mm explosive shell landed in their fuel tank. The plane did not blow up.  The pilot found not one, but 11 explosive shells in the fuel tank.  The shells were turned over to intelligence.  It was discovered that the shells had not been loaded with an explosive.  Instead, they found tiny rolled pieces of paper in them written in Czech.

The papers said, "This is all we can do for you now."  Captured patriots had been forced to load shells under the careful guard of the enemy, but found a way to substitute the papers and do one small thing that made a big difference to the lives of one WWII bomber crew.

What is God doing in YOUR life? – because He’s doing SOMETHING.....
