www.concernedchristians.ca "I was dumbfounded at the fact that the Gay Militia would storm into a private meeting where we were praying and discussing Bill C-250 a bill that will affect our freedom as Christians to discuss certain beliefs. Just as our guest speaker Rev. Tristan Emmanuel was discussing how Bill C-250 is about silencing our freedom of speech and freedom of assembly the Gay Militia stormed the meeting and proved the point," stated Jim Blake, CCC Business Chair. The CCC feels that all groups have a right to freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the freedom to assemble and protect their deep held personal and moral beliefs. "We are very concerned about the Christophobia and the growing hatred towards Christians in Canada. We are also very concerned that the media continually ignores the blatantly bigoted actions of the militant minority in this country. Can you imagine if our organization stormed a Homosexual gathering? It would be on the front page of every paper in the country and the headlines would not be flattering towards us," continued Blake. The Calgary City Police arrived at the event just moments after the Gay Militia was cleared out by hotel security. The Calgary Police Service seized all the videotapes but one and some video footage has been placed on the internet at http:// www.justicenetworkcanada.com/justicenetworkcanada.com.rmvb and on the CCC website of www.concernedchristians.ca The Calgary Police Service has assured the CCC that charges will be laid against members of the Gay Militia when they are found. The CCC has cited 3 sections of the Criminal Code that have been breached by the Gay Militia. Those sections are as follows:175-1 A i Causing A Disturbance - every person who not being in a dwelling house causes a disturbance in or near a public place by fighting, screaming, shouting, swearing, singing or using insulting or obscene language. 176 2 Disturbing a Religious Worship - everyone who willfully disturbs or interrupts and assemblage of persons met for religious worship or for a moral, social or benevolent purpose is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction. 265 1 B Assault - A person commits an assault when he attempts or threatens by an act or a gesture to apply force to another person if he has or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he has present ability to affect his purpose. "We will insure arrests are made. We will insure a complaint against all that showed is filed with the Alberta Human Rights Commission. We will insure to increase our efforts against Christophobia and demand that our rights as Canadians are protected. Enough is enough it is time that the courts, Human Rights Tribunals and the media start defending our freedoms and not just those of the radical left," concluded Blake. [The following viewpoint was written as an email response - reprinted by request - City Light News] TO whomever it may concern: RE: "CHRISTIAN MEETING ATTACKED BY GAY MILITIA" - . While I appreciate the fact the CCC is raising alarms over the state of this nation and the "abuse" of Christianity taking place, I got the feeling from reading the SUBJECT line of the article and the usage of CAPITAL letters in the headlines that you are bordering on sensationalism, something one would expect from tabloids like the National Enquirer. It is ironic in a sense that my software caught your email as spam in being the point I wish to make. My heart sank when I started to read the article and was fully expecting to see scenes of violence and carnage in your video, with bodily injury towards innocent people at a largely packed meeting. As it turns out to be a bunch of adolescent kids having a bad hair day – heck might have been even a bunch of PK’s jerking around, and with them mostly being female, interrupting a small group of about 35 people is hardly something to cry bloody murder over, let alone press charges. I even saw a few people smiling while praying as this was going on, like how I felt while viewing it as not a big deal, if anything humorous. Sure bring to light what is happening in Canada, but there has to be a balance. I can’t see Jesus sensationalizing this as something to be alarmed over, if anything the Bible exhorts us to rejoice when we are persecuted for righteousness sake – so where is this important point mentioned in the article? To which I believe also discounts your "Immediate Release" by the wrongful usage of the word "ATTACKED". This was not an attack, but a simple disturbance by a bunch of kids. With real life Missionaries, Christians, church leaders, and people I know (and knew of) who are being attacked (and killed) overseas as we speak - this was nothing and if anything an insult to their real life suffering. Maybe pray and reconsider what your next steps are, for by making this a big issue I feel it might end up being detrimental to your efforts and backfire in the end. Sincerely
